Master Choa Kok Sui: A Practical Spiritual Teacher

Have you ever met someone whose wisdom quietly changes the way you see the world?

For millions of people across the globe, that person was Master Choa Kok Sui.

Although he remained largely out of the public spotlight, his teachings have helped people find greater peace, improve their wellbeing, deepen their meditation practice, and live with more purpose. What makes his approach so refreshing is that it doesn’t ask you to change your religion or simply accept ideas on faith. Instead, he encouraged people to learn, practice, observe the results, and decide for themselves.

It’s a practical approach to spirituality that continues to inspire people in more than 126 countries.

A Life Dedicated to Helping Others

Master Choa Kok Sui (1952–2007) was an engineer, businessman, philanthropist, spiritual teacher, and the founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga.

He spent more than thirty years researching ancient wisdom from different cultures, studying energy healing, meditation, and spiritual principles. Rather than presenting them as mysterious teachings, he organised them into practical, science-based systems that anyone could learn and apply in everyday life.

His vision was simple: spirituality should help us become healthier, kinder, happier, and more effective in our daily lives.

More Than Just a Physical Body

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately sensed the atmosphere? Or met someone whose positive energy left you feeling calm and uplifted?

Master Choa Kok Sui taught that we are more than just our physical bodies. According to his teachings, each of us also has an energy body that influences our health, emotions, and overall wellbeing.

Different cultures have known this life energy by different names—Prana, Chi, and Ki.

Just as we care for our physical body with good nutrition and exercise, he taught that caring for our energetic system can help us feel more balanced and resilient.

What Is Pranic Healing?

One of Master Choa Kok Sui’s greatest contributions is Pranic Healing, a complementary system of energy healing now trusted by thousands around the world.

At its heart is a simple idea: the body has an innate ability to heal itself, and this natural process can be supported by working with life force energy.

Pranic Healing uses gentle, non-touch techniques to cleanse and energise the body’s energy field. Many people practice it alongside conventional medical care to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.

Spirituality for Everyday Life

One reason these teachings resonate with so many people is that they fit into everyday life.

Master Choa Kok Sui didn’t believe spiritual growth meant withdrawing from the world. Instead, he encouraged people to become more patient, compassionate, honest, and generous in their relationships, work, and daily interactions.

As he often taught, spirituality is reflected not just in what we know, but in how we live.

The Power of Meditation

Among his best-known practices is the Meditation on Twin Hearts, a guided meditation that combines inner stillness with loving-kindness by blessing the Earth with peace and goodwill, which is also used as form of self-healing.

Many practitioners say they feel calmer, clearer, and more centered afterwards, making it a valuable practice for managing the stresses of modern life.  This meditation is practiced by many in the UK & Ireland in our community groups and online sessions.

Growing From the Inside Out

Central to Master Choa Kok Sui’s teachings he emphasised that transformation begins with character.

His teachings encourage the development of qualities such as compassion, patience, forgiveness, integrity, generosity, and self-discipline—not as ideals to admire, but as habits to practice every day.

He reminded students that small, consistent improvements in our thoughts, words, and actions can create profound changes over time.  Students who learn Arhatic Yoga, make this a fundamental part of their daily practice.

A Life of Service

Service and tithing were central to everything Master Choa Kok Sui taught.  He established and encouraged philanthropic arms to help alleviate the suffering of humanity in many countries.

He believed that genuine spiritual growth naturally expresses itself through helping others—whether that’s supporting family, volunteering, contributing to the community, or simply choosing kindness in everyday life.

His legacy continues through the MCKS Charity in the UK, a non-profit organisation providing food, toiletries and essential items to over 180 schools in the UK.

MCKS Community Projects in Ireland, provides support to worthy causes in Ireland.

Why His Teachings Still Matter

In a world that often feels busy and disconnected, Master Choa Kok Sui’s teachings offer something timeless: practical tools for living with greater peace, purpose, and compassion.

Whether you’re exploring Pranic Healing, curious about Meditation on Twin Hearts, or simply looking for a path of personal growth, his teachings invite you to begin with an open mind and an open heart.

After all, the most meaningful journeys often start with a single step—and for many people, discovering Master Choa Kok Sui, though his authored books and courses, has been exactly that.

His vision: Bridging Eastern Wisdom with Western Medicine

Master Choa Kok Sui envisioned a future where Eastern healing traditions and Western medicine could work alongside one another.

Les Flitcroft, founder of the Institute of Pranic Healing UK & Ireland and a direct student of Master Choa Kok Sui, continues to carry forward his teacher’s vision. Through his work, he has introduced thousands of people across the UK and Ireland to these teachings, supporting greater health, wellbeing and personal transformation.

In a significant step towards bridging complementary healing and conventional medicine, Les conducted a three-year clinical trial at King’s College Hospital involving 100 paediatric patients with gastrointestinal conditions. The first trial of its kind in the world was undertaken to scientifically evaluate the efficacy of Pranic Healing within a clinical setting.
